A catch-all email mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to non-existent addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and in this way you will never miss emails because the other side has an out-of-date address or has made a typographical error. The disadvantage of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of spam emails, but this issue can be rectified by using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also vital to bear in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound emails to a third-party address.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
If you host a domain name on our cloud platform and you have a shared hosting account, you will be able to enable the catch-all functionality for any email mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel includes quite a few functions, but it’s amazingly intuitive, so setting up a catch-all mailbox takes just a single click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you have created will be displayed in this section in alphabetical order and you will only need to click on the "Catch-all" button associated with the given address. Our system will alert you if there is already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain name or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or pick another mailbox. Disabling the catch-all feature is just as simple and requires yet another click on the same button.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The catch-all functionality can be enabled effortlessly if you have a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you’ve created with the domain names hosted in the semi-dedicated account will be displayed in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and you’ll notice a small sign conveniently situated directly next to each one of them. With just a single click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your desire on the condition that there isn't another mailbox under the same domain name with the option already activated and there isn't active email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on an email address and activate this feature through the context menu that will pop up. In case any of the prerequisites for creating a catch-all mailbox is not satisfied, our system will notify you, but will not replace or disable anything automatically.
