Using outdated apps or templates and plug-ins for them, or using very simple passwords always poses a threat to your sites because these things make it considerably easier hack them. This will get worse in case you have multiple sites because all of them will be vulnerable if an attacker gets control of only one of them. For this reason we have introduced JailHost - an advanced security option that isolates sites from each other. If a site gets compromised, the attacker will be unable to view or gain access to any other content outside the website folder, so all the rest of the Internet sites part of this account will be protected and will remain intact. Using the JailHost option doesn't be a substitute for performing frequent script updates or using complex passwords, but it will minimize the damage to your websites significantly, so you'll need to fix only one site instead of all of them.
JailHost in Shared Hosting
In case you host your sites inside a shared hosting account from our company, you'll be able to protect them by using the JailHost feature with just a couple of clicks within your Hepsia Control Panel. The option is accessible with all plans and can be enabled for every folder as the domains and subdomains in Hepsia have different folders, so files for different websites never get mixed up like it usually happens with other Control Panels. We haven't activated JailHost by default as you might use scripts which require access to folders outside the primary site folder and this option may interfere with their proper operation, but shielding all other folders is very simple. If any secured website gets hacked for whatever reason, we will be able to recover it promptly as we will have multiple daily backup copies of your entire account and you will even be able to view the available backups using Hepsia.
JailHost in Semi-dedicated Servers
JailHost comes with all our semi-dedicated server plans and you can activate it with a few clicks. It is not activated by default because we don't want to prevent some scripts which require to access multiple folders in your account from working properly. You'll be able to activate JailHost for all other Internet sites that you have from the Hepsia Control Panel and you can do this very easily even if you don't have any previous experience. What enables us to offer JailHost is the way in which Hepsia maintains multiple domains - they all have individual folders that can be "locked". In contrast, other well known Control Panels feature add-on domains and the content of the latter is kept in the primary domain folder, so when a single Internet site is hacked, the entire account is hacked, that isn't the case with Hepsia. In case a site is damaged despite your efforts, we'll be able to restore it the way it was without delay because we will have several daily backup copies of your entire account.
